Carly Smith, MBA

Chandra Crawford, MBA
Chandra divides her time between Calgary and Canmore with her family including two toddlers, is the founder and CEO of Fast and Female, and is a 3x Olympian. As the founder of Fast and Female, she was a dedicated volunteer for 11 years before taking a leadership role with the organization in 2014. However, in her board capacity, she volunteers time to join the other members in providing oversight, performance management, and risk-assessment. During all of those volunteer years, it was the letters from parents and the enthusiasm from the girls and ambassadors that sustained her efforts in fundraising and developing programs for the now-charity.
Cam Crawford, ICD.D
Cam is a partner with the Catalyst Group of Calgary. He has experience and expertise in a variety of industries with a focus on strategic projects, corporate finance, governance, and transaction services. Cam has extensive public, private and non-profit board experience with charitable work including the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation, Harvie Conservancy and National Music Centre. As the most significant founding board member of Fast and Female by far, Cam continues to be energized with enthusiasm for the mission . . . and is inspired by Chandra and the rest of the fantastic Fast and Female team.
Crick is a Calgary-based professional with extensive experience in technology and network operations, lean networks, and she presently works in Digital Transformation at ENMAX. Prior to become a tech star and starting her very active family, Crick completed a degree in kinesiology and a Masters in teaching, and competed in triathlon. Crick brings her planning and leadership skills to Fast and Female and enthusiastically volunteers her time because “I can honestly say I would not be where I am today without sports and the tremendous support and encouragement from my father.”
Kikkan is from Anchorage, Alaska but now resides in Penticton, BC with her family. She is a 5x Olympian in the sport of Cross-Country Skiing where she was the 3x overall sprint world cup champion, world championship gold and silver medalist, and Olympic champion in 2018 after an impressive comeback from having her son, Breck. Kikkan is a sought after keynote speaker, brand ambassador and cancer fighter, having been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer just 3 months after achieving her lifelong goal of winning Olympic gold. She has also been the leader of Fast and Female’s USA operations since 2008, volunteering thousands of hours for the pure and simple reason that she is beyond passionate about the power of in-person moments of connection between young girls and athlete role models, and sees the huge potential for the organization to grow in the USA.
Karen lives in Dundas, Ontario with her husband and three busy children and has been with the Fast and Female board since 2008. Karen met Chandra while covering a Fast and Female event in Canmore for TSN. In 2015 Karen started her own production company, KZProductions, which produces integrated content for national broadcasters. Sport has been huge in Karen’s life and she is a passionate believer in value of sport participation for girls. She is motivated by the progress Fast and Female continues to make in reaching more and more girls all over North America with better programming every single year.
